My name is Taija Ventrella, I'm a professional fitness trainer, and I have healed my chronic pain. 

I suffered from chronic neck and shoulder pain as well as headaches and migraines ever since I was 12 years old. They were absolutely debilitating - sometimes they were so painful that I couldn’t do anything but lie down and wait for them to pass, other times the pain in my neck and shoulders just nagged at me for days - limiting my mobility and my ability to fully focus on anything. 2. Go through the program with me and cohort

Meet once a week (or watch the recording) and follow the homework prompts. It’s about 40 minutes of work per day. Some people feel like this is too much time to spend, but think about how much time you’ve already spent in pain, and how much time you will continue to spend in pain if you don’t take effective action. If you stick to this program for 6 weeks, you will have spent about 28 hours, and you will transform your life!

The Stronger Than Chronic Pain Program

There are 4 modules to this program:

  1. Education - to understand how acute pain and trauma or stress can develop into chronic pain, and the factors that keep you in pain.

  2. Brain Training - to think and talk differently about your body, your brain, and your pain.

  3. Writing Exercises - to address the root causes of your pain, and the factors that are perpetuating your pain.

  4. Meditation - to shift your nervous system from a place of mostly stress and activation to a place of mostly calm and healing. 

Before I successfully healed my pain, I would try one or two of these modalities at a time. I could see their value, but none of them alone led to any real shift in my chronic pain. All of these modules work together and must be included for the program to be effective. 

Time Commitment:

We will meet once a week for an hour (or you can watch the recording), six Tuesdays at 7pm EST, starting on November 5th (skipping the week of Thanksgiving).

Week 1: You will have about 30 minutes of assigned readings, several short exercises that you can do throughout each day, and about an hour of homework making lists for the upcoming four weeks of exercises. You will also receive a resource list of podcasts, documentaries, and books to check out. 

Weeks 2-6: You will need to set aside 40 minutes to an hour per day to complete the assignments. I will suggest a lot of different exercises. I recommend you try each one once or twice, but then continue doing the ones that feel the most productive to you.

The effectiveness of the program is fully dependent on you doing the work at least 6 days per week. You have spent months to years in pain, so it will take a concerted effort to heal.
